Summary
Some users in China may not be able to connect to Banyan infrastructure located outside the country. This article will discuss how to test your users in China for connectivity to your resources. If you are having trouble with a Service Tunnel for users in China. Please open up a ticket with Banyan Support.
Instructions
To figure out if connectivity is being blocked within China. You may use the tool provided below to test if your traffic is being blocked or has an increase in latency.
- From a device which is located outside of the country of China, navigate to www.dotcom-tools.com/china-firewall-test
- On the landing page, you will see a Starting URL field. Enter the Service Domain Name of the service you wish to test connectivity to. In the Select China Locations field, select the origin locations within China you wish to test the connection from.
- When you are ready, select Run Test.
- Once the test is complete, you may find the detailed results towards the bottom of the tool's webpage. Please review the results to determine if your service is accessible from within China.
Please note this does not test protocols such as WireGuard which is utilized in our Service Tunnel features. This test is purely for web traffic. If you have an issue with Wireguard or another protocol going over Banyan components. Please open a support ticket.
