Upgrade Access Tier on AWS CloudFormation

Introduction

There are times when you need to upgrade your Access Tier or may want to in order to utilize a new feature. New versions of Netagent are release every month. You can click here to check the Netagent versions and features

Check the BanyanPackage parameter

1. Go to your CloudFormation Stack
2. Double click on the name of the Stack
3. Select Parameters tab
4. Scroll down until you see the parameter 'BanyanPackage'

Check if the value is banyan-netagent or if it is banyan-netagent follow by the version number such as banyan-netagent-x.x where x is the current version 

Upgrade to the latest version

If the value is banyan-netagent plus the version number, follow the below steps:

1. Select the stack you created for Banyan
2. Click on the Update button
3. Change the BanyanPackage to banyan-netagent-1.37.0 (or current latest version)
4. Click Update Stack
5. Check the Events tab and wait until shows UPDATE_COMPLETE

If the value is just banyan-netagent, follow the below steps:

1. Go to EC2 Auto-Scaling Group page and find the ASG for your AccessTier
2. Click the Instance Refresh tab and click Start Instance Refresh
3. Set the minimum healthy percentage to 50%
4. Click Start
